Dot's Orange Slice Cake 1 cup butter 2 cups sugar 4 eggs 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 cup buttermilk 1 teaspoon baking soda 2 cups pecans 8 ounces dates 1 pound orange slice candy 1 can coconut flakes Icing 1 cup orange juice 2 tablespoons lemon juice 1 pound powdered sugar Cream sugar and butter, add eggs. Beat well, add flour and milk. Roll nuts dates and candy in part of flour, add to batter along with coconut. bake 2 1/2 hours at 275 degrees. Leave in pan to cool. Mix icing ingredients and coat cake.
